WAI Opens Chapter in Albuquerque!

A new local chapter of WAI, appropriately named “The Land of Enchantment Chapter” , has landed in New Mexico!  Long awaited, the chapter has already set up a website and hosted a couple online meetings.

The Women in Aviation International (WAI) Land of Enchantment Chapter is dedicated to the encouragement and advancement of girls and women in all aviation and aerospace career fields and interests across the state of New Mexico.

WAI is a non-profit organization whose international membership includes pilots, astronauts, corporate and airline pilots, maintenance  technicians, engineers, air traffic controllers, business owners, educators, journalists, flight attendants, high school and university  students, air show performers, airport managers, and many others.

Their focus is to offer interested people information and opportunities about aviation and aerospace career, and provide support to women (and men) in or pursuing the profession by offering education, outreach, networking, mentoring and scholarships.  We strive to encourage, empower, and educate all those whose interests involve aviation and aerospace without regard to race, ethnicity, gender identity, age, sexual orientation, physical or mental abilities, or point of view.  Our shared passion for aviation transcends any differences among us.

We are excited to announce the launch of our new chapter website!  As we grow, the site will grow along with us to have an Events page, a Photos page, a Girls in Aviation Day page, and more.   Please check it out and stay tuned as we grow our online presence over time!

If you would like to hear more about us and all that we can offer regarding education, mentors, networking, career development and scholarships, send us an email at wainewmexico@gmail.com.
